I recieved an email from square stating: We're sorry to inform you that we are deactivating your account. We reviewed your account and found a persistent pattern of transactions generally associated with high-risk activity.

We regret that, starting today, you will no longer be able to process transactions using Square. I've been a Sqaure customer for over 5 years & never had any fraud. activity, no charge backs not even a complaint. I run my entire business on Square register us their chip reader & in one day you shut my entire business down.

How does Square do this to small businesses? The same ones that they claim they created a platform for?

To top it off you cut off my phone privileges so I can't call to question what is going on I can only email. Bad business

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: A response .

Square Pros: Easy tranasctions, Square and the ease and simplicity.

Square Cons: Completely unresponsive.

Yup, same experience... I waited about 4 months after submitting the CBD form to even get a response that I was being considered.

Then they notified me I had some non-compliance language on my website (not pointing to anything specific). Besides the usual disclosure on the bottom of each page I even have a copy point in the FAQ warning customers that "If you see wild claims that CBD can cure diseases, please know that the FDA is not allowing any CBD brands to make these claims." I tweaked text that I thought COULD be an issue and double-checked against leading CBD websites (mistake I guess) but then was told I wasn't compliant with no details.

There is no way to speak with anyone there or to find out what they had an issue with. End of story I guess.

The same thing just happened to my boyfriend two days ago, unbelievable! He is extremely well-established, and has been self-employed for the past 30+ years.

No explanation, nothing.

I was going through the compliance steps of the new program allowing CBD sellers to use their service and they deactivated my account. No warning.

Just bye-bye. And after hours wasted trying to find a way to get to a human, the human only said that the "decision is final".

The exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. I can not afford to lose out on those funds of almost $1,000.00.

They told me I couod get it back in November. Who can we call to advocate on our behalf?

Did you ever receive your payment ? Same thing happened to me and i have to wait until March of 2020 , but Iโ€™ve seen recent post of people saying that they havenโ€™t received their money even after the date that was told to them .

I wonder if dissatisfied merchants could join together and take out a full page ad in a reputable newspaper about the rapacious behavior of Square. How could we organize this?

Would people be willing to send me their email addresses and we can begin to create a list of dissatisfied merchants. I would love to give them some bad publicity.

I had the same experience and we did not even begin to process payments! I just bought their equipment set up an account did a few trial charges and then they deactivated the account.

What a lousy company and such a poor ethic of service. Larry

Got same to my account. Completely legitimate company provided all requested documents, and did the very first transaction and got that email from them saying they deactivated my account and would hold my funds for 90 days with out any reason.

That is really insane. We are small family owned nutrients and supplements store.

Same thing just happened to me.... email stating they have closed my account.

Said I am in breech of their terms and conditions but I have read their terms and conditions and I am well within their guidelines. No idea and such poor customer service when I called and they told me they do not have to tell me where the breech is

What is your business? Would you let others know so that they may think twice and go with a different processor? How about the rest of you that were dumped, what is your business?

Same thing just happened to me. I have $850 in sales from yesterday that have not been deposited yet (would have been deposited this morning).

In the email, it says they will hold account balance for 90 days.. but then it says: "Iโ€™ve received payments in the past few days that havenโ€™t been deposited yet. What will happen to them? We recommend that you refund the payments back to the original payment card and ask your customer to pay you by another method (cash, check, etc.).

The full payment amount will be returned to your customer. Youโ€™ll be able to issue refunds within 120 days of the original payment date." Does this mean that the only way to get my sales from yesterday is to refund ALL of my customers and ask them to pay me again?? Or is that just the quickest way to get the money so that I don't have to wait 90 days?

I'm so confused. Any one have an answer to this?

Happened to me too. No problems in 5 years and then suddenly they decided I was high risk and dropped me without warning. Absolutely no one at Square will talk to you once this happens.

Just had it happen to us with no reason and they robbed us of our weekend sales. No explanation and we have to wait 120 days to get paid, maybe.

No person to talk to and no-reply emails. One number gets you a canned message and the other repeats a canned message 5 times and hangs up.

yep had the same happ4n to me. I believe there is a group that is growing in a private FB group organizing to take legal action against this company. I am so pissed!!
