I created an account, did my verification, and made a $1400 transaction this passed Sunday. Today, they email me and tell me that my Account has been deactivated and my money is on hold for 90 days.

I try to call their support, and they won't talk to you without a customer code and that i should log in to my account in order to get the code. I log in and guess what?? NO CODE! only a way to email support.

This is ridiculous and I will NEVER recommend their service to anyone.

Now i have to contact my customer that purchased an item from me, and process a refund and ask them to find another way to pay. This company is a joke.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $1360.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Square Cons: Very frustrating, Lack of customer support, Absence of communication.

I'm very disappointed that I didn't do my research prior to signing up. Sad to see threads go back so many years and yet the SAME problems are happening.

I switched to Square only because the software my developer introduced integrated with them. Just like some of the other comments I ran one transaction for 2500. Thought everything was good because it went through perfectly fine. Come to find out two days past (I have sales every now and then so I didn't notice) my account was deactivated.

WTH? I cannot even wrap my head around how I was approved to be deactivated. It's almost like they just want to take your money then send you on your way. My friend recommended Redde Payments whom I LOVE now.

Just speaking to a real person makes it better than Square (as if that's too hard to ask). I hope Square goes out of business just like I'm sure they do to small businesses.

Dejavu. Same thing happened to me.

$3400 dollars being held up. How do they even let you charge a payment and then deactivate you the next day with no explanation as to why? Verified everything and you can't even talk to a human being. Forget the fact that my company has been in business for 6 years and is an S-corp.

It's like its just an algorithm running rampant that decides who gets approved or deactivated. They sure as *** can't explain as to why.

Worst customer support and the worst product ever. This is essentially legal theft.

Back in October I enabled Square Payments on my Big Commerce website. Everything was fine the 1st two months, then in December I sold an item to someone who used Square Pay (mind you, this is THEIR OWN application).

Before I had a chance to pack and ship it out I got an email from Square requesting all sorts of verification information... Hello William, Our system noticed some unusual activity on your Square account. To make sure weโ€™re keeping Square a safe and transparent payment system for everyoneโ€”buyers and sellers alikeโ€”weโ€™re suspending transfers to your bank account until we can confirm some of your information. 1.

Please provide a copy of the customer(s) credit card processed for the transaction listed below: โ€ข $96.50 MasterCard 2352 on 12/9/20, 12:10 pm 2. Please provide your customer's state or government-issued identification. We're able to accept these types of IDs: Driverโ€™s License, Passport, Passport Card, State-issued Identification Card โ€ข $96.50 MasterCard 2352 on 12/9/20, 12:10 pm Again, this was an ONLINE sale, on my own website, using Square's plug-in app for the Big Commerce platform... how would I have access to any of this information?!

I emailed with someone from support named "Paris" but they never responded to my email after answering thier questions. I sent them a follow-up email a few days later: Hello Paris, Due to this experience I have disabled Square as a payment method on our website. I may re-enable it, it depends upon the outcome of this horrible ordeal. Why did Square approve the transaction, then act like I am the one doing something wrong?

It was a website payment for a toy using the Square integration with Big Commerce. Iโ€™ve never had anything like this happen with PayPal, whom weโ€™ve been using for 15 years! Invoice is attached, it is now 8 DAYS OLD!! I never received a response, but the next day I got this email from "Joseph": Hi William, Your account is currently under review due to some changes in your activity.

While under review, we place a temporary hold on your Square funds to ensure that everything is safe. To release this hold, weโ€™ll just need you to confirm a few account details for us. They wanted the same 2 pieces of information that I do not have access to as it is an eCommerce website! My response: Hello Joseph, This is RIDICULOUS!

It was a website order, therefore I do not have a copy of the customerโ€™s credit card or identification! Iโ€™ve submitted the invoice online and also via email yesterday to โ€˜Parisโ€™. WHY is Square harassing me about a transaction approved and authorized via the Square integration for my Big Commerce website?! I have been using PayPal on our website for 15 years without one single problem.

I enable Square a couple of months ago, and now my funds are frozen!!!! His response: Hi William, Thank you for taking the time to reply my email. We are more than happy to help! Unfortunately, we werenโ€™t able to fully confirm your account details with the information you provided.

Until we receive a completed request form from you, we cannot transfer funds to your linked bank account. That was on Dec. 18th with no further communication either way. I received this email today: Hello William, Weโ€™re sorry to inform you that weโ€™ve had to deactivate your account.

Based on the information you provided about your business, weโ€™re not able to support your business needs right now. You wonโ€™t be able to process payments with Square. Unfortunately, this decision is final. Is this some sort of sick joke?!

I disabled your platform over 3 months ago, and now you're dropping me?

As the owner of a physical retail store and a successful eCommerce website, I had already determined that your system cannot be trusted. LMAO

Same thing happened to me. No way to get a code to talk to someone on the phone.

Huge scam. I can't even email support because it endlessly asks to log in or does not allow you to select a location.

Can support be awful if you cant even reach support??? I'd rather be treated badly and at least be able to talk to someone.

I agree with the reviewer. Square is an awful service and not recommended. Lesson learned and tip: if you can't pick up the phone to speak to someone, then don't wast giving them your business and a sizeable amount of your profits.

Ya they did it to me to $20,000 dollars deactivated the account 90 day hold did to. Me last night and now nobody want to answer but then if u go postal on them I be the wrong one for trying feed my family and keep a roof over there head I had to work hard for that money and some rich peace of *** get richer and sits there and plays with peoples life and then gets away with it to nothing ever done about

I agree Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life, they deactivated my account as well. Then they leave you to know way to contact or reach them and they are holding my money, $7000 for 3 months.

I bet the interest adds up when they do this to so many people. Criminals!!!
