Hey! I'm actually a payment processing specialist and decided to test some of squares features.

Sure enough ran into issues immediately after not using their square reader for transactions under $500. When using square BEWARE of Moto transactions or taking transactions over the phone. Square is NOT a real merchant account - it's an aggregator. Chase Payment Tech is their back end and actually uses First Datas sysyem.

Anytime I ran an invoice my teams accounts would either be pended or quickly declined - don't use square for that. If you have anything high ticket - over $1000 DO NOT USE SQUARE - their automatic risk system will just pend it most likely. Plus is that they let us refund everyone fairly quickly.

If you have an business that A.) has an average ticket above $10 and b.) might need to take something over the Internet there are much better options out there.
