I set up an account with Square to process payments specifically for Spa Finder Gift Cards. The account processes them seamlessly.
I began in May 2023 and the funds never transferred to my account. I kept thinking I had something set up wrong and kept trying different settings and re-entering my account info. When I finally gave up and called them to ask for help setting up, they said they would have to refer me to another department higher up for review and they would email me. I instantly received an email stating my account has been deactivated.
They stated that my funds will be released in February of 2024. (This was November 8, 2023). No explanation...nothing. Every time I call they say "the decision is final." They will not forward me to a supervisor or anyone else...
Always...the decision is final. I even had my banker call them and tell them the code and laws stating this is illegal to hold the funds for 10 months. I cannot speak with anyone and they only send generic email saying "account is deactivated". They are holding over $5K of my money and I am a small, local business...this is literally my payroll.
I do not know what else to do. How are they legally allowed to do this?

User's recommendation: Make sure your account is shut up right before you start using it or your money will get tied up because of a decline on a card and more than once and even if it’s your own card and they take their dying time to get it straightened out. I gave him a call three days ago. The guy said he would get it worked on and never called me back. I’m not no computer whiz so I don’t believe I’m doing anything on computer because I don’t do it right now to the time. Thank you.
Well, when you're asked to do certain things and you do it. The correct way is it a website is down or the company just doesn't care

User's recommendation: Be careful on how you deal with your customers. Because sometimes they can *** y** over on pay. Now the company doesn't want to do anything about it because I've been fraughted broaded.

I still have NOT received my money.I would warn against using Square, if you have any kind of issue, you are tough out of luck on getting your money.

I chose Square as a payment platform with confidence, where I paid commission, fees in each transaction, monthly membership payment and on up to 8 occasions they kept the clients' tips (for the latter, I decided not to use the Doordash for the delivery of my product).
I understand that SQUARE are the ones whose have to help and work for their clients as I am the business, they do not.
They use their policies to exonerate themselves from management, expenses or responsibilities, leaving all responsibility to the retail without providing any alternative. In short, they appear to be a great platform, and perhaps it is, but unfortunately the team managers do not manage fair, logical and legal policies so that we could all have a sale-collection, win/win process.
Something that I cannot understand is that if they are registered in the network of banks and have agreements, they do not have procedures, a team of people, much less a system where they can prevent and manage fraud, when they have a case of this type, they get rid of responsibilities by saying that they are only an intermediary and that the decision lies with the bank that issued the card, so if that is the case they cannot continue offering the product they currently offer.
User's recommendation: If you are looking for secure system to accept your clients credit card, SQUARE is not the right one
