Impossible to reach customer service

My Square app isnt working. Theres no way to speak directly with a person. It says they will send you a code to your email. It doesnt send me a code. So theres no way I can reach anybody.

Square holding funds and deactivating account over $5K

I set up an account with Square to process payments specifically for Spa Finder Gift Cards. The account processes them seamlessly.

I began in May 2023 and the funds never transferred to my account. I kept thinking I had something set up wrong and kept trying different settings and re-entering my account info. When I finally gave up and called them to ask for help setting up, they said they would have to refer me to another department higher up for review and they would email me. I instantly received an email stating my account has been deactivated.

They stated that my funds will be released in February of 2024. (This was November 8, 2023). No explanation...nothing. Every time I call they say "the decision is final." They will not forward me to a supervisor or anyone else...

Always...the decision is final. I even had my banker call them and tell them the code and laws stating this is illegal to hold the funds for 10 months. I cannot speak with anyone and they only send generic email saying "account is deactivated". They are holding over $5K of my money and I am a small, local business...this is literally my payroll.

I do not know what else to do. How are they legally allowed to do this?

You can never reach anybody they hold up your funds. They ask for personal information and their customer service is abhorrent.

New account

Not getting my money deposited yet run one of my credit cards that have been activated yet so it declined it a couple times so I run another one of my credit cards that went through and they put a hold on it. I was just seeing if it was it was just seeing if it was working when I switched bank accounts on it.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

User's recommendation: Make sure your account is shut up right before you start using it or your money will get tied up because of a decline on a card and more than once and even if it’s your own card and they take their dying time to get it straightened out. I gave him a call three days ago. The guy said he would get it worked on and never called me back. I’m not no computer whiz so I don’t believe I’m doing anything on computer because I don’t do it right now to the time. Thank you.

Took a customer to lower manhattan then afterwards she asked me If I knew how to get to Westchester County. I suggest I do I am originally from New York. How to make a long story? *** was a scam and now I'm done with square. Because I've been using them with my company for many other years. If this company can't straighten out.

Can't get into my account

Weve had $601.19 in our account and cant get the money. The account shows that the money was transferred on December 20 but the bank doesnt have it.

After stealing my money they deactivate my account and made it where I can't even call to talk to anybody. Then no follow-up email with oh and 90 days will give you your money back, and now it's been past 90 days and still nothing no phone call no fault email and still no funds. This is absolutely ridiculous I don't know how they're still in business? Well I guess I do know it's because he's still everybody's money.

I still have NOT received my money.I would warn against using Square, if you have any kind of issue, you are tough out of luck on getting your money.

Open account under the name of Pioneer County Events, took cc payment on May 17th 2023 of 216.30 My deposit owed is 208.58 will not transfer to my bank account. I have emailed twice to square support and have still not received a response or phone call back. When I've called the automatic system tells me my account has been deactivated Still not received deposit of 208.58. I shall be contacting The Attorney General with a copy of all my emails I have sent to you including this one. Please reply either by email.

I chose Square as a payment platform with confidence, where I paid commission, fees in each transaction, monthly membership payment and on up to 8 occasions they kept the clients' tips (for the latter, I decided not to use the Doordash for the delivery of my product).

I understand that SQUARE are the ones whose have to help and work for their clients as I am the business, they do not.

They use their policies to exonerate themselves from management, expenses or responsibilities, leaving all responsibility to the retail without providing any alternative. In short, they appear to be a great platform, and perhaps it is, but unfortunately the team managers do not manage fair, logical and legal policies so that we could all have a sale-collection, win/win process.

Something that I cannot understand is that if they are registered in the network of banks and have agreements, they do not have procedures, a team of people, much less a system where they can prevent and manage fraud, when they have a case of this type, they get rid of responsibilities by saying that they are only an intermediary and that the decision lies with the bank that issued the card, so if that is the case they cannot continue offering the product they currently offer.

Poor Customer Service!

I requested information on withdraws being made from my business account with the use of square. After an hour waiting and being transferred to multiple representatives I was told that a supervisor would get to me in a few days. Really? I do not have a square account and I am alarmed that they do not have any way to trace transaction being made by their customers.

Need to speak to representative.

I needed to speak to someone with square. And they kept trying to give me a code and the code would not show up and I never could contact anyone with square without having to go to some kind of website which that was not what I wanted to do ,. I have a charge on my square card of $100 with Shell station that I did not make and I was wanting square to help me figure out how to change that or cancel the charge
